“Welcome to the Hive”
I have officially reached blog number 3 with this blog- and behold it is another review.
Wealth Management Marketing moved into its new official office location known as the Hive on July 1st, and I must say I immediately became a fan of the place. The collective idea of the Hive isn’t new – a place where people who work from home or independently can still work in an office space without renting a whole building.
The building doesn’t seem to be much from the outside, but inside is where the fun begins. The downstairs floor consists of a few different areas. The first being a living room type area with couches, square seats, modern-styled coffee tables and a “grass” carpet. This open area for those that need a break from the desk or might have a client coming in. Also on the first floor are the day-by-day desks for people that are in and out. Lastly, in the back of the first floor is the kitchen area, and a closed off conference room. The second floor consists entirely of desks for those that have set up shop at the Hive.
Overall, after having spent a couple weeks working at the Hive I must say it is a place I’m going to miss working at. The atmosphere is ideal – it offers the needed desk space, but also has less “work” space and more “idea” space to move. In short one is not so much constrained to your typical office environment, but it’s not too relaxed like one’s house office space may be. And did I mention they keep music going most of the time – they play a good variety.
In addition to the perfect space, it just so happens to be full of the right people (so to speak). Marketers, networkers, web designers, and designers in general seem to be the sum of the companies that exist there. Since starting at the Hive I am consistently meeting new people and talking with them as well. As a student and intern new to the field of marketing it has been a wonderful opportunity to see a large variety of people doing their thing. Not only that, but advice has been offered, and networking has occurred.
Before I start to ramble more than I may already be, I recommend you check out their blog which offers pictures of the area, information about the companies working there, and more information on the desk space still available, along with their affordable prices. In short, the Hive is a wonderful place to work. The idea that they have going I hope continues to grow as it encompasses much of what seems to be the future of work space as more people work from home, or simply start to develop their own businesses.
